48-Hour Content: Why Expiring Posts Are the Future
On Portal, every post has a 48-hour window. It's not a limit. It's what makes the whole app feel alive.
How it works
- Your post is live in feeds and on leaderboards for 48 hours
- After that, it leaves the public feed
- It saves to your profile as a memory
- You can pin up to three memories to the top of your profile
Why it's better
- The feed is always fresh. You're seeing what's happening now, not last month.
- Less pressure. Post the moment, not a perfect curated grid.
- Everyone gets a shot. Old viral posts don't hog the rankings forever.
- A reason to come back. There's always something new.
