How to Become #1 in Your City on Portal
Portal ranks creators in their city, college, state and across the US. Here's how to climb.
1. Post every day
Daily posts build your streak, and streaks unlock trophies. Consistency is the single biggest factor you control.
2. Film real moments people care about
Events, food, nightlife, game days, sunsets, anything happening right now where you are. Real beats polished.
3. Hook in the first second
Start with the best part. People decide in a moment whether to keep watching.
4. Pick the right leaderboard
Leaderboards rank by likes, views, followers and comments. Check which one you're closest to topping and focus there.
5. Engage back
Comment, reply and tag friends with @mentions. Community brings people back to your posts.
6. Students: verify your college
Verified students get the college-only feed, campus rankings and college vs college competitions.
